Purpose

ProstheKicks is an influential program, focused on teaching amputees techniques to take advantage of their body while maintaining comfort. There are an estimated 1.9 million amputees in the United States and approximately 185,000 amputations performed each year. Recent Reports show that 1.5 million amputees have limb prosthesis. Of those amputations performed, 82% are due to Peripheral Vascular Disease and Diabetes. Many individuals that have lost a limb(s), lose confidence because they feel like they are incapable of being more than disabled.

ProstheKicks is a company that will provide amputees dance and self-confidence development videos showing them how to take advantage of their body and that they are capable of doing anything. Videos will include lessons from as simple as posture to more challenging ballet. This will not only benefit them mentally but definitely physically.

ProstheKicks membership will also consist of a social media forum format where subscribers are able to communicate with others and post their weekly progress.

Video Content 

​New videos will be uploaded and produced every week, 11 months out of the year following a single theme. These videos will be sold in monthly sets. Each month a new message will be taught along with one choreographed piece. Weekly videos will be an hour long, consisting of a ten minute warm up with an introduction to the lesson. 20 minutes will be dedicated to reviewing choreography learned in prior videos. The next 20 minutes will introduce new choreography, and the final 10 minutes will be cool down for subscribers to properly relax their well worked muscles.

Convention

Annualy, Prosthekicks hosts a convention welcoming all of our subscribers, local amputees, and local prosthetic technicians.

We have several choreographers there to review our latest season's choreography and all of our subscribers have the opportunity to perform and collaborate with their cyber friends.
